We’ve Dismissed the Under-Liar

“There is a vacuum at the heart of our culture. “
—Ravi Zacharias

We are living today in an increasingly rudderless and anchor-less culture. We are drifting aimlessly toward the rocks even as we are “amusing ourselves to death”.

And yet, like deaf, dumb, and blind fools, we continue to re-arrange the deck chairs and declare that we are “making progress”.1

We’ve Dismissed the Under-Liar

We’ve dismissed the Under-Liar
As an ancient fairy tale.
We proclaim “There’s no Designer!”
Chasing that unholy grail.

What is “real” is what we’re feeling…
We pretend, we eye, we lust…
We have faith now in Big Brother
And in Mammon do we trust.

We’re enamored by our idols…
And we’re very, very proud.
We’re just bodies in rebellion
On the broad way with the crowd.

Friend, we’ve traded in tradition,
Now we mock the living Word.
Just proud clay without a Potter…
Roe v Wading undeterred.

Oh, my job keeps getting easier
As time keeps slipping away.
….
I'm gaining power by the hour
They're falling by the score
You know, it's getting very simple now
'Cause no one believes in me anymore.
