A view of the "Spire" within Eagle Nebula

Recently, the brilliant scientist, Stephen Hawking, in his book The Grand Design, wrote that:

“Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing,...Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist. ...It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going.”

Apparently, because of gravity and Gravity Alone, everything in the universe,... or, more properly,... the “multiverses” (according to the current fashion of “M” and String Theory),... everything...all Time and Space and Matter, from mollusk to man and distant nebulae to DNA, was simply inevitable.

Voila! Like, Magik! “Spontaneous Creation”.

No Deity needed. “God” need not apply.

In other words, Stephen Hawking has proclaimed in his heart, and now also quite authoritatively to the rest of us, that “there is no God”.

This claim...and this attitude...of course, is nothing new. Mankind has experienced an endless array of such idolatrous ideologies throughout recorded history. And since this particular post-modern installment of the age-old “Religion of God-Replacement” dresses itself up in the sacred vestments of “Science”, it can anoint itself unchallengeable and above reproach....Science is, after all, Authoritative.

Everyone today knows that science deals only in unassailable “facts”. Never mind that the speculation about Ultimate Reality that Prof.. Hawking espouses and proclaims is based upon unobservable, untestable, unverifiable ethereal theoretical musings (albeit from a brilliant mind).

Somewhere, someone made this observation:

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

Prof. Hawking has clearly made a statement of Faith while at the same time hiding behind the false facade of “science”. So, welcome once again to the latest “New Age”, Old Time Religion of Man....Humanism. This time around, we hear its call through “The Gospel of Scientism”.

In the Old Testament Psalms, there are basically five words in the Hebrew language that are translated “fool”. Each of the five words describes a different type of fool and different degrees of fool-ishness.

Psalm 14: 1 reads: “The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.'”

The Hebrew word translated “fool” in this case is “nabal”. It describes your basic committed, “Black Belt”, high octane fool...”corrupt” and “vile” and “wicked” [see Strong's Concordance].

“Intelligence” (ie., a brilliant mind with an IQ off the charts) is not, apparently, a synonym for “wisdom”.

Stephen Hawking has been talking,
Hawking Faith in what's unseen;
Rub the lamp and there you have it!
We can see just what he means!

Yep, no Deity is needed,
Nope, now God need not apply.
Church of Po-Mo Speculation:
Just So” stories in the sky.

Humanism's same ol' same ol',
Trace it back to Babel's Tow'r....
Scientism's Holy Temple,
Deconstruction's finest hour.

Tower of Babel (engraving by Gustave Dore)

Naturalism in full flower,
Still avoiding Deity...
Mankind hiding in the Garden,
Singing hymns to Gravity!

Watch!..... Spontaneous Creation!
All from Nothing like we thought...
“POOF!”...... String Theory's “mutiverses”
All strung out in Godless Noughts.

Mental prestidigitation,
Such Enchantment! Come and see!
One more nabal-istic missile
Launched through human history.

Scientism's ekklesia
Heed the rebel spirit's Call!
Magik Gravity in action...
Just relax....Enjoy The Fall!
