Babble-Ons of World Renown

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
—C.S. Lewis

“There was a time, decades ago, when the political left was a movement that defended personal and political liberties against an establishment that curtailed them. They took pains to argue and persuade that their positions were superior. No more. The left has become the establishment. They are everywhere, they never rest, and there is no escaping their efforts to make all of us over in their image. They are the "omnipotent moral busybodies" C.S. Lewis warned of…Worse, they have become so enamored with themselves and so convinced of their inherent moral superiority that it no longer matters whether their positions are demonstrably factually false, internally inconsistent, or completely antithetical to the values, which they have traditionally espoused…. What we have now is a tyranny of the minority -- a relatively small cabal of academics, media personalities…who have a stranglehold on the national conversation. On any issue the left cares about -- abortion, gay marriage, transgender rights, immigration, climate change -- one opinion and only one opinion is permitted. Those who disagree must be exposed, mocked, demonized and destroyed.”

Babble-Ons of World Renown

Yes, the Woodstock generation
Has grown “older” but not “up”…
Peter Pan-ites now with muscle
Drinking from their Marxist cup.

Busy-bodies with long noses
That they’re always looking down,
“The Elite Opinionators”…
Babble-ons of World-Renown.

First, they commandeered the campus
Where they demonized dissent.
Legalism on a rampage…
Juggernaut-like Malcontents.

They dropped Jesus but found Darwin,
(That’s when Gaia joined the team…)
Then they seized the “Bully” Pulpit…
That Green, VERY mean Machine.

They taught “How to Blame All Others”
Then they passed out PhD’s.
Next they inbred with each other
To insure insanities.

They got entertainment back-up
From the Hip of Hollywood…
“Do your OWN thing!” took the place of
What you ‘ought’ and what you ‘should’.

They taught “In Your Face, Dude!” ethics
And, yes, “Safe Place 101”…
They blamed Evil on dead white guys,
But by no means were they done!

They taught Deconstructed Nonsense
All dressed up in Emp’ror clothes
As they worshiped at the altar
On Post-Modern tippy-toes.

They made “pro-choice” baby-killing
A profound and Sacred Rite…
(One more way to save the planet)
To Green Gaia’s sheer delight.

Next they re-imagined “marriage”,
And then “gender”…( girls and boys).
Then they re-defined the darkness
While they made a LOT of noise.

They mocked Scripture and tradition
And they forced it down our throats…
Naming “sin” became a sin, son…
And, my friend, ….that’s all she wrote.

Father God, have mercy on us,
Give us Grace and eyes to see.
Give us ears to hear the Good News
Of the Cross of Calvary.

"But we preach Christ crucified....."

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written:
‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.’

Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”
—1Corinthians 1: 18-25
