Cecil Proves We’re Tender-hearted!

“I once read that part of the education for the would-be members of the infamous Nazi SS involved giving the aspiring men a puppy each, at the beginning of the training. Then at the time of their graduation, they were ordered, "Strangle the puppy." If they flinched, if they hesitated, if they declined, they flunked. The Nazis explicitly trained men to violate their conscience.”

It has recently been revealed that the Planned Parenthood organization has been engaging in some rather sordid and unsavory practices (ie., dismembering and selling baby body parts). This is not really news to many folks, but to many others it seems somehow to have come as a surprise.

As a consequence, Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion advocates and supporters are in denial and full defensive mode. The mainstream, secular and liberal media outlets have formed a protective “black-out” shield around the story in a mad-dash attempt to cover up the obvious, inconvenient truth, while at the same time they are desperately and foolishly pretending not to see…..

Enter Cecil the Lion, the tragically poached Zimbabwean king of beasts. And the ultimate scapegoat story takes center stage.

The death of Cecil (killed in error, apparently, by a dentist from Minnesota) instantly becomes the quintessential diversion and the perfect illustration that highlights and amplifies the perversely twisted reasoning and amorally skewed priorities that hold the post-modern west in its ethics-strangling, conscience-numbing, nihilistic grasp….a neo-pagan, civilizational choke hold for the record books.

“There comes an hour in the afternoon when the child is tired of 'pretending'; when he is weary of being a robber or a Red Indian. It is then that he torments the cat. There comes a time in the routine of an ordered civilization when the man is tired at playing at mythology and pretending that a tree is a maiden or that the moon made love to a man. The effect of this staleness is the same everywhere; it is seen in all drug-taking and dram-drinking and every form of the tendency to increase the dose. Men seek stranger sins or more startling obscenities as stimulants to their jaded sense. They seek after mad oriental religions for the same reason. They try to stab their nerves to life, if it were with the knives of the priests of Baal. They are walking in their sleep and try to wake themselves up with nightmares.”
—GK Chesterton

Sleepwalkers, might we ponder
As this nightmare presses in…
Let's pretend those tiny corpses,
Don’t remind us of our Sin.

Let's pretend that we're not "Guilty!"
Let's pretend we just don't see...
Let's pretend that God's not Holy
And with us He will agree.

Let’s pretend God’s wishy-washy
And would never “hold a grudge”,
That there’s no need for repentance,
Because “good” gods never judge.

Cecil Proves We’re Tender-hearted!
(That We’re ‘Good’ and That We ‘Care’)

Might the blood of Cecil move us?
Might it open blinded eyes?
Might it help us see the evil
That Planned Parenthood's devised?

Here’s an issue we might ponder….
As this nightmare presses in…
Just pretend those tiny corpses,
Don’t remind us of our sin.

Look! There’s Cecil!....And The Scapegoat!
In this kingdom of the air…
A convenient mass diversion,
That can help us feel we care.

It’s the broad way of atoning,
It’s the way we wash our hands.
It’s the devil’s Pilate Program…
In the Land of Shifting Sand.

Cecil proves we’re tender- hearted
(Quite “progressive”…in-the-know)...
Body parts for Lamb-borghinis
And the Roe v Way to go.

Cecil proves we’re kind and gentle,
That we’re pure and clean and good…
Cecil proves we measure up, sir,
Doing what we ought and should.

Curse that wicked, nasty dentist
Who shot Cecil!......(Why, oh, why!!?)
Cast him out into the desert1!
Better yet, let’s crucify!

Might the Blood of Cecil move us?
Might it open blinded eyes?
Might it help us see the evil
That in each of us resides?

Might we recognize the darkness
That engulfs the human race?
Might we see the rugged Cross then?
And the Lord’s Amazing Grace2?

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”
