"What happens to language when words lose all significance, when they have no history or objectivity, when they are deconstructed or denied a reality? This is what has happened in recent years in the departments of literature and philosophy in leading universities. Is it any wonder that there is a crisis in the teaching of moral education, if words, which are the tools to convey truths, have no objective meaning?"—Russell Kirk, 1989

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.”
“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”
“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.”—
Humpty-Dumpty (Lewis Carroll)

Dr. Dumpty's Mass Delusion

Kids, when Humpty has the last word,
Sitting proudly on that wall…
Please take note and listen closely.
You’ll detect the devil’s call.

He’s a “Good Egg”…,Quite post-modern!
Good intentions on display...
Pay attention….He’s got tenure!
(And he thinks of you as prey.)

Watch him deconstruct tradition,
Watch him undermine what’s true.
Watch him re-imagine meaning…
Watch him pass it on to you.

Watch him feint with fancy footwork,
Watch the contradictions fly!
Watch him smugly laugh and chortle,
Watch the fog intensify.

Watch the crack-up of the culture,
As it’s yoked to Satan’s plan,…
Doctor Dumpty’s mass dysfunction
Finds acceptance in the land.

Watch the chaos he’s espousing,
Taking root around you, son…
Watch as bedlam's celebrated
When ol’ Humpty’s said and done!

Go ask Alice….She’ll confirm it,
There’s confusion in the air.
It’s a powerful delusion,
And it swears: “It’s only fair!”

Watch both “good” and “evil” vanish
With a crafty wink and nod…
Watch the “good egg” try to rid you
Of the one true Holy God.

Watch The King and all his horses
Gather ‘round him in the end.
Watch the scrambled egg of Babel
Take it’s toll, son, once again.
